Durga Puja, the most celebrated festival of Bengal, marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. This annual festival brings communities together in worship, celebration, and cultural expression.
Durga Puja symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The ten-armed Goddess Durga represents the power of the divine feminine energy to overcome negative forces.
The festival spans over five days - from Shashthi to Dashami. Elaborately crafted clay idols of Durga , Kartick , Ganesh , Laxmi and Saraswati are installed in beautifully decorated temporary structures called pandals at our Jagarani Club , Samabaya Pally Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity. The festival culminates with the immersion of the idols in water bodies.
